About Redland and Cotham
Redland and Cotham are two adjoining suburbs of Bristol, South West England. Primarily residential areas, Cotham is best known for it’s Victorian and Georgian townhouses, while Redland is well known for its thriving student community and as a favoured accommodation area for students at nearby Bristol University.
Leafy, affluent Cotham is a cosmopolitan residential area with large old Victorian and Georgian houses, many of which have been divided into flats, hotels, B&B’s and independent shops. The area is also home to two schools and the gothic revival style Cotham Church.
Redland is particularly popular with students in their second and third year at Bristol University with many choosing to make the area their home for the duration of their education. Alongside student accommodation, the area also has over twenty listed buildings, most of which are examples or Georgian and Victorian architecture.
Both Redland and Cotham have good transport links to the centre of Bristol and surrounding areas with a local train station and bus service.
